The role of a sound designer is to build the environment and action of its characters through sound. So much of how we view a scene or perspective characters depends on this. Sound design also makes the images we see feel almost tangible. When we hear the sound of someone's fingers running through sand or wind violently blowing, we can almost feel it. We've heard these sounds so much that our brain instantly associate these feelings and textures just from audible cues. That's why I believe the role of a sound designer is not only what was mentioned above, but to also make the audience feel images. So if your film, animation, trailer, etc. is lacking the impact you desire, I can assist in its emotional storytelling through sound design.
